Response of Sediment Connectivity to Altered Convergence Processes Induced by Forest Roads in Mountainous Watershed

چکیده
Forest roads significantly affect sediment connectivity in mountainous catchments by contributing to the production of and disturbing confluence sediment-loaded runoff. This study considered forest as pathways sinks runoff understand effects on characteristics a catchment using scenario simulation. In order determine contribution spatial relationship between influencing factors, this utilized buffer analysis, an extremely randomized tree model, multiscale geographically weighted regression. The results show that presence changes transport process catchment. Specifically, flow length increases, but accumulation, upslope area, topographic index decrease with increasing distance from streams. Meanwhile, convergence are mainly manifested within certain threshold varies different characteristics. Moreover, increases when considering runoff, especially upper hillslopes intercepted at road–stream crossings. addition, closer roads, greater impact road connectivity. Change is most important factor affecting among all other convergence, terrain, longer length, lower conclusion, demonstrates altered processes possibility will be transported outlet, which significance for proper management catchments.

More important sediment factors in forest roads in the northern Iran forests
Abstract The forest road is most important sediment sours in the forest regions. the forest roads with remove vegetation cover and disorder hydraulic behavior regions, causes sediment product and problems due of sediment. This study has been done to surveying sediment factors roll in the sediment producing in the northern forest road. For this goal were selected purpose road sections by using h...
متن کاملSediment production from forest roads in western Oregon
Prevention and estimation of soil erosion from forest roads requires an understanding of how road design and maintenance affect sediment production. Seventyfour plots were installed on forest roads in the Oregon Coast Range to examine the relationship between sediment production and road attributes such as distance between culverts, road slope, soil texture, and cutslope height. An additional c...
متن کاملDetermination of roads quota in watershed sediment yield using SEDMODEL and GIS
During the construction of road networks large area of forests and rangelands will be destroyed in the road path and its margins. This process causes massive amount of soil and rock move from its site and on adjacent lands will be accumulated, that causes increasing environmental degradation. One of the most important problems due to forest roads making is increasing of different erosion forms ...
متن کاملAltered Neural Response Induced by Central-Fatigue in the Cortical Area During High-intensity Interval Pedaling
Introduction: The central-governor model explains the mechanism of endurance exercise-induced central fatigue, but high-intensity exercise-induced central fatigue has not been investigated yet. This study aimed to research how central fatigue during high-intensity intermittent pedaling alters the neural response, which results in electroencephalography (EEG) recordings. Methods: We assessed ne...
متن کاملStreamflow response to increasing precipitation extremes altered by forest management
Increases in extreme precipitation events of floods and droughts are expected to occur worldwide. The increase in extreme events will result in changes in streamflow that are expected to affect water availability for human consumption and aquatic ecosystem function. We present an analysis that may greatly improve current streamflow models by quantifying the impact of the interaction between for...
